• Despite the prosperous past of la Belle Angèle, the site’s productive, cultural and later recreational dimension faded out over time - into a ‘closed can’.

Our aim is to reactivate the site by rethinking and reweaving human and natural alliances with (Pont-)Aven. This is translated into a twofold ambition: to reconnect again with the urban centre and at the same time to (re)enter into a productive and ecological dialogue with its surroundings.

The design proposal is composed of a multi-layered framework, to which several activities, programs and initiatives can be attached. It allows for gradual transformations of the built and open structures, for ad-hoc interventions and can adapt to changing circumstances appearing along the way.
